NRA member offered ‘Kremlin connection’ to Trump aide: report

A member of the National Rifle Association told Trump campaign adviser Rick Dearborn in 2016 that he could coordinate a meeting between then-candidate Donald Trump and Russian president Vladimir Putin, The New York Times reported on Sunday.

“Putin is deadly serious about building a good relationship with Mr. Trump,” Paul Erickson wrote in the email to Dearborn. The email had the subject line “Kremlin Connection,” according the newspaper. “He wants to extend an invitation to Mr. Trump to visit him in the Kremlin before the election. Let’s talk through what has transpired and Senator Sessions’s advice on how to proceed.”
