The Republican National Committee is losing a top staff member to the influential U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
Sara Armstrong, chief of staff to RNC chairwoman Ronna Romney McDaniel since January, is leaving the party for a new job as the chamber’s vice president.
Armstrong is among a handful of staffers to leave the RNC this summer — several of the party’s data staffers are looking toward the door after the party replaced its chief data officer, according to Politico.
An RNC official told The Hill that Armstrong got “an amazing opportunity that she couldn’t turn down” and that party officials are excited for her next step.
