Newsmax CEO Chris Ruddy said Monday that President Trump is looking into firing special counsel Robert Mueller from his job of overseeing the federal investigation into Russia’s role in last year’s election.
“I think he’s considering perhaps terminating the special counsel … I think he’s weighing that option,” Ruddy told “PBS Newshour” host Judy Woodruff.
Ruddy was seen walking out of the White House on Monday, but it’s not clear if he met with Trump.
The conservative media head said he did not believe Trump, whom he calls a friend, should terminate Mueller.
