President Trump’s personal lawyer has reportedly advised White House aides that they did not need outside counsel, according to the New York Times.

Marc Kasowitz reportedly told presidential aides who have asked him whether they should consider hiring private legal help to hold off for now.

The Times also reported that Kasowitz has advised aides to avoid talking about the probe into alleged ties between the Trump campaign and Russian election meddling.

A spokesman for Kasowitz said the New York Times’ characterizations of his conversations with aides were “inaccurate,” but did not specify how to the paper.

The report comes after former FBI Director James Comey claimed Trump had asked him to let the investigation into ousted national security adviser Michael Flynn go during his testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee.
