President Trump’s legal team is composing written answers to a series of questions given to them by special counsel Robert Mueller as part of the ongoing federal Russia investigation, according to a report Thursday.
Sources familiar with the matter told CNN that the questions pertain to Russian interference in the 2016 election and potential collusion between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin and that Trump’s team is partially depending on documents already provided to Mueller as they craft answers.
It remains uncertain if another set of questions will be turned over to Trump’s team, or whether Trump will participate in a sit-down interview.
“We are in continuing discussions with the special counsel and we do not comment on those discussions,” Trump attorney Jay Sekulow said, per CNN.
Meanwhile, Trump indicated during a Thursday interview with Fox News that he would be willing to sit down with Mueller or submit written answers.
