Trump’s press secretary said the White House is looking at other ways to “showcase” his “great entrepreneurship.”

President Donald Trump’s on-again, off-again coronavirus briefing is back on, the White House announced Monday, a reversal of course that came hours after the administration canceled its previously scheduled afternoon press conference.

The White House’s waffling on Monday’s briefing followed a Fox News interview with press secretary Kayleigh McEnany, who teased that the administration’s coronavirus briefings “may have a different look” this week. Within an hour of McEnany’s Monday morning interview, the White House circulated an updated daily schedule with the day’s press conference erased.

Hour’s later, McEnany, wrote on Twitter that Trump would indeed brief the press as previously scheduled.

“UPDATE: The White House has additional testing guidance and other announcements about safely opening up America again. President @realDonaldTrump will brief the nation during a press conference this evening,” McEnany posted on Twitter.

McEnany, in her interview with Fox News, said the White House is looking at other ways to “showcase” President Donald Trump’s “great entrepreneurship,” and added that the briefings are an important part of that as a way for the president to “speak directly to the American people.”
