Incoming White House Director of Communications Anthony Scaramucci will report directly to the president, according to a White House press release.
A statement issued by the White House Friday night praised Scaramucci as a longtime supporter of President Trump, and noted that he will report directly to Trump rather than to White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus. Spicer reported to Priebus.
“Anthony is a person I have great respect for, and he will be an important addition to this administration,” Trump wrote in the statement.
“He has been a great supporter and will now help implement key aspects of our agenda while leading the communications team,” Trump continued. “We have accomplished so much, and we are being given credit for so little. The good news is the people get it, even if the media doesn’t.”
The White House seems to be looking to Scaramucci to redirect some of the president’s messaging directly.
“Scaramucci will oversee the entire communications operation, including message development and strategy. He will report directly to the president,” the statement added.
