Jake Tapper hits ‘disgusting’ violence from anti-white supremacy protesters in Charlottesville
CNN anchor Jake Tapper is calling out alleged violence by anti-white supremacy protesters in Charlottesville, Va., last weekend.
In a series of tweets on Wednesday night, Tapper cited several examples of journalists who claimed they had been assaulted by counter-protesters at the white supremacy rally that took place Saturday.
“These are unprovoked assaults on journalists doing their jobs — by those marching *against* the hateful racists,” Tapper wrote. “Disgusting.”

Among those in the media who said they had been assaulted were Taylor Lorenz of TheHill.com, who posted a video on Facebook that cuts off after she is heard screaming and a man’s voice yells at her to, “Stop fucking recording.”
She claimed she had been punched in the face and that her phone was kicked away.
