A man wielding a metal pole showed up at the Trump International Hotel in New York City on Sunday intent on hurting White House senior adviser Jared Kushner, who is also Trump’s son-in-law.

Matthew Pilling, 30, trespassed onto the Columbus Circle luxury hotel and was escorted off the property by security Sunday morning, law enforcement told TMZ on Monday.

Pilling then returned to the scene a few hours later and brought a metal pole with him, police said, and he tried to break into the hotel’s kitchen area. Hotel security immediately contacted the New York Police Department.

Officers who apprehended Pilling after the second incident said he was carrying a note explaining his desire to hurt Kushner. The document also said Pilling planned to commit suicide by jumping off the hotel’s roof afterward.
