A South Korea military official said on Wednesday Seoul is ready to take action against any provocation by North Korea, according to Reuters.
The comments come after Pyongyang said plans to attack the waters near the U.S. territory of Guam will be completed by mid-August.
The South Korean official said North Korea’s statements regarding Guam challenge the alliance between Seoul and Washington.
The developments follow a new Defense Intelligence Agency report that revealed Pyongyang had miniaturized a nuclear warhead to put on top of a ballistic missile.
