The State Department Says “No” to Acting as Ivanka’s Supporting Staff in India

In the past, administration officials as high up as Secretary of State John Kerry or even President Obama have attended the summit. This year, however, the State Department won’t be sending any senior officials.

The reason being, Secretary Tillerson doesn’t want to make Ivanka seem like a more important part of the administration than she is, as a supposed “unpaid” adviser.

Good. She doesn’t represent the US in any diplomatic capacity. And while Ivanka may technically be “unpaid,” I’m reasonably sure we taxpayers foot the bill for her “expenses.” Enough of this. Voters elected a president, not a royal family.

If Ivanka wants to go, she should pay her own way out of Daddy’s allowance.

She’s raising money for her private women’s entrepreneur fund and using the taxpayers to foot the bill for her travel expenses. How nice for her.
