President Trump has reportedly selected Singapore as the venue for his upcoming summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
The neutral territory would allow senior administration officials to let go of previous concerns about the optics of Trump traveling to Kim’s backyard, following the president’s announcement earlier Wednesday that he was no longer considering the Demilitarized Zone separating North and South Korea.
Sources familiar with the planning told CNN that administration officials have been advised to plan for a June meeting between Trump and Kim in Singapore.
