Donald Trump Versus the Intelligence Community

And this is exactly the wrong way to start a productive, mutually beneficial working relationship.

So wretchedly, embarrassingly, desperately unprepared and unqualified to be president is Donald Trump, that he really doesn’t understand how important the intelligence community is to the nation, and to the job of the president.

This lack of understanding is playing out before our eyes, only a week before he is to take office, as Trump is incapable of rolling with anything that resembles bad news, and continues to hit hard at the very agencies that are tasked with protecting our nation from a myriad of threats.

….

Trump was up early Friday morning, lashing out at the intelligence community.

….

And truly, the facts are, the documents exist. Thanks to Buzzfeed, whether they are true and reliable or not, they’re out there for everybody to see. The intelligence community did the responsible thing, as was their duty, by letting both the sitting president, Obama, and incoming president, Trump, know about them.

With all that in mind, Trump’s continued attacks on the intelligence community serve no purpose, other than to alienate the very organizations that are tasked with keeping us safe. Nothing he is doing now makes sense.

But then, he wasn’t voted in to make sense. He was voted in to be angry and shake his fist at the world.

And to tweet.
