Kid Rock forced to cancel shows after most of his band gets COVID-19

The musician recently performed at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota, a state now experiencing a significant spike in cases.

Rock star Kid Rock has canceled two of his shows in Fort Worth, Texas over the weekend because of an outbreak of COVID-19 in his band. 

The rocker, whose real name is Robert Ritchie, said in a series of tweets on Aug. 26 that “over half the band has f****** covid” and that his scheduled performance on Aug. 27 and 28 was canceled, CNN reported.

The musician says he and his band mates have been vaccinated for COVID-19.

Earlier this month, Kid Rock played at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota. The COVID-19 rate in the area increased more than 450 percent following the event, according to CBS News. 

At the time, Kid Rock wrote on Twitter about the event: “There is nothing the mainstream media or internet and social media trolls can do but look at this pic and weep, knowing they will never beat us.”
