Mike Lee 'would not say no' if Trump nominated him for Supreme Court

Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, said on Thursday that he would accept a potential nomination if President-elect Trump nominated him to the land’s highest court.

“If he asked me that question, I would not say no,” Lee told KSL Newsradio’s “The Doug Wright Show” on Thursday. Lee added that he is happy with his job as a recently re-elected senator. “This was the job I wanted, the job that I sought twice now, and a job I was elected to twice.”

Trump had listed Lee as one of 10 people he would consider picking from to nominate to the Supreme Court to replace the late Justice Antonin Scalia. That September list was supplemental to a list in May of 11 other people he would consider selecting. The first list included Lee’s brother, Utah Supreme Court Associate Chief Justice Tom Lee.
