Shots have been fired near the U.S. Capitol, according to multiple reports.
Metropolian Police say a person drove into police cruisers on Independence Avenue, near the the Capitol complex and attempted to drive over Capitol Police.

Police say a cruiser was struck and one female suspect is in custody. It is unclear if there were any injuries. Police seem to have fired their weapons.
