Special Counsel Robert Mueller is investigating the business dealings of President Trump’s son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner, according to a new report.
Officials familiar with the probe into alleged ties between the Trump campaign and Russia during the 2016 election told The Washington Post on Thursday that Mueller is investigating the finances and business dealings of Kushner as well as other Trump associates.
Those being looked into include former national security adviser Michael Flynn, former campaign chairman Paul Manafort and Carter Page, another campaign adviser to Trump.
Reports last month said Kushner had come under scrutiny in the FBI’s investigation and that the bureau was specifically looking into his interactions with a Russian businessman and Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak.
The Post noted that Mueller’s probe into Russia’s attempts to meddle in the election and potential ties between Trump campaign staff and the Kremlin is still in its early stages.
