Trump: 'The only way we are going to lose this election is if the election is rigged'

President Trump on Monday further cast doubt on the U.S. election process, claiming falsely that the only way he would lose in November is if the election is “rigged.”

Trump made the remark at the end of a speech to supporters in Oshkosh, Wis., Monday afternoon as he implored them to vote. It follows months of Trump claiming without evidence that widespread mail-in voting during the coronavirus pandemic would invite fraud into the election.

“We have to win the election. We can’t play games. Go out and vote. Do those beautiful absentee ballots or just make sure your vote gets counted. Make sure, because the only way we are going to lose this election is if the election is rigged,” Trump told the group of supporters at the outdoor campaign event. “Remember that. It’s the only way we’re going to lose this election, so we have to be very careful.”

“The only way they’re going to win is that way. And we can’t let that happen,” Trump said, just hours before Democrats are to begin their 2020 convention to formally nominate Joe Biden as the party’s presidential candidate.

Says the guy who is doing the rigging. And actually, he’s right. He’s rigging the election by sabotaging the USPS to hinder the delivery and processing of mail-in ballots. Trouble is, by doing so, he will hinder who knows how many Trump voters from casting their ballots by mail. The USPS can’t distinguish between mail-in ballots that were obtained by application (absentee ballots) and those that were obtained through a mass mailing. The USPS won’t know whether the mail-in ballots are pro-Trump or pro-Biden. So if then USPS can’t do its job, votes for both candidates will be adversely affected. It’s possible Trump could lose simply because a larger number of pro-Trump votes won’t make it on time.

And there are the d own-ticket races for the house and certain senate seats. Those also could be impacted if mail-in ballots are not received on time. Doesn’t Trump want a Republican majority in both houses? I thought he did.
