Breitbart has reacted by publishing audio of a conference call with House members from October. In the call, which was widely reported at the time, Ryan was reacting to a recording by “Access Hollywood” in which Trump had discussed groping and seducing women:

With the entire healthcare repeal effort now resting on Trump’s shoulders, it appears difficult for some of his biggest fans to cope with the responsibility for the Obamacare repeal bill that he has voluntarily taken on. Trump, whose lack of ideological grounding was evident throughout the campaign, has seized and carried the conservative banner in many areas since his election. But he was always a bizarre choice for the uber-conservative types who zealously cheered on, for example, the 2013 government shutdown.

The fact that they elected a dealmaker and not a no-compromise conservative seems like a deniable fact to some people even now that its consequences are making themselves felt.
