Eleven people were killed and six were injured in a shooting Friday afternoon at the Virginia Beach Municipal Center. The suspected gunman was also killed.
Virginia Beach Police Chief James Cervara said the shooter was a “longtime employee of public utilities” and at around 4:00 p.m. “began to indiscriminately fire upon all the victims.”
The suspect, who Cervara did not identify by name, was killed after exchanging gunfire with police officers. He is not included in the 11 victims Cervara reported dead.
One of the people injured was a Virginia Beach police officer, who officials said was saved by his vest.
Cervara did not offer a motive in the shooting and did not clarify what kind of firearm was used.

Looks like another wounded victim has died, raising the death toll to 12.
And of course, the gunfire hadn’t stopped yet before politicians once again called for gun control. It’s like a reflex with these people.
