Given the pro-life cause is my #1 issue overall, and the one I’ve devoted most of my time to overall, some of you have asked me this question:
“Why aren’t you supporting the GOP healthcare bill that defunds Planned Parenthood?”
Because Republicans are essentially asking us to make a Faustain bargain. To trade empowering a full slate of Planned Parenthood-backed politicians next year by passing terribly unpopular legislation, in exchange for a one-year defund that could be done by another means.
They put stuff like this one-year defund in garbage bills such as this one to get us on board, fully knowing they could do it elsewhere without it being tainted. These are what we call in politics “shiny objects.”
Pretty things meant to distract you from the overall turd sandwich being served up.
