Attorney General Tish James also accuses the company of withholding or redacting documents in a civil investigation into the valuation of properties.

The New York attorney general’s office is suing for a court order to force compliance with a subpoena for Eric Trump’s testimony in a state investigation of several properties owned by the Trump Organization, according to court filings unsealed Monday.

In the documents, which were filed on Friday in the State Supreme Court in Manhattan, Attorney General Tish James also accuses the Trump Organization of withholding or redacting “thousands of responsive, non-privileged documents” in a civil investigation into the valuation of the four Trump Organization properties, in addition to refusing to allow testimony.

Trump, the third-oldest child of President Donald Trump and the executive vice president of the Trump Organization, was scheduled to provide testimony for the investigation last month but backed out of doing so less than two days before the interview was to take place. The company is now refusing to comply with the subpoena for Eric Trump, the filing says, citing “those rights afforded to every individual under the Constitution.”

The filing from James’ office asks a judge to order the Trump Organization to turn over the documents it has withheld and to compel the testimony it seeks from Eric Trump, as well as two lawyers who worked with the company.

It accuses the Trump Organization of stonewalling its investigation for months and reveals that James’ office is focusing on four Trump properties in particular: Seven Springs Estate in Westchester County, N.Y., the Trump International Hotel and Tower in Chicago, 40 Wall Street in New York City and the Trump National Golf Club in Los Angeles.
