The conference call with Trump’s most prominent surrogates included Governor Jan Brewer, Senator Scott Brown and Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi. When Trump pressed the group to defend his credibility, impugn reporters as racists and question the judges credibility, Governor Brewer interjected saying the campaign had issued a statement demanding all surrogates stop talking about the lawsuit altogether.
Trump responded. “Take that order and throw it the hell out!” and then claimed he did not know the staffer that had disseminated the cease and desist order.
Trump concluded the call by saying, “Are there any other stupid letters that were sent to you folks? That’s one of the reasons I want to have this call, because you guys are getting sometimes stupid information from people that aren’t so smart.”
