President Trump will participate in an NBC News town hall held outdoors in Miami on Thursday, the network announced, setting up an evening of competing events featuring the incumbent president and Democratic nominee Joe Biden.
The events will take place in lieu of the second presidential debate between Trump and Biden, which was cancelled last week after the president objected to new plans for a virtual format. The next and final debate will be held on Oct. 22.
Thursday’s town hall will be moderated by “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie and will take place outdoors at the Pérez Art Museum in Miami, NBC News announced early Wednesday. Public health guidelines will be followed amid the coronavirus pandemic, the network added. The event will air at 8 p.m. ET for one hour, with Guthrie moderating a conversation between Trump and Florida voters on various issues.
Biden previously announced that he would take part in an ABC News town hall the same evening in Philadelphia, which will air at the same time as Trump’s town hall and will run for 90 minutes.

NBC says the town hall will comply with CDC guidelines. Is the network going to force Donnie to wear a mask?
So Mr. Lane and Dr. Fauci reviewed Trump’s test results and medical data and concluded Trump is not contagious. Well, how do they know the test results and medical data haven’t been falsified?

I've heard from over a dozen NBC, MSNBC, and CNBC sources (talent and staff) and the frustration with and anger toward their employer for scheduling a town hall against Biden is palpable.

Today’s incidents — Trump promoting a conspiracy theory that SEAL Team 6 did not kill Bin Laden and the phony herd immunity declaration — should give NBC an idea of the bovine excrement Trump will be promoting at the town hall. Not only should NBC be skeptical about Trump’s supposedly negative COVID tests, but they should also consider that they will be giving him a forum to promote conspiracy theories and false or misleading information. Giving Trump that forum could result in further harm to this country which has, among other things, seen 215,000 deaths from COVID resulting from Trump’s lies and inability or lack of desire to lead.

Trump may find that his ratings compared to Biden’s will be an embarrassment. Then again, he will just lie about it.
There’s a movement on social media to get as many viewers as possible to watch Biden’s town hall so as to create a ratings disaster for Trump’s town hall. Yes, Granny, he would probably lie about the ratings. Or blame someone — NBC perhaps. Whenever there is a disaster, Trump has someone or something to blame.
