I too hope that Cruz wins on the 2nd ballot. If Trump wins, I hope he is smart enough to pick a good conservative VP. If that happens, then I will finally believe that he isn’t just a spoiler for the democrats. I will wait until the nomination to decide how I will vote in the general.

Little known fact: “Delta Smelt” are not native to the California Delta.

They were seeded into the delta by importing them as a bait fish in the mid 1800s.

Very interesting fact. Now the “must be saved!” California politics is crazy and they keep exporting it to other states. Colorado is being overrun.

That is possible. My theory is that Trump is running to get Hillary in the WH

The establishment has always been a master of disguise.
    .

Yes, and will continue to be so, leading the people by the nose, who only pay limited attention to the present, don’t look at history and are distracted by shiny objects.

I drifted away from going to Target. I wasn’t going very often. Now I will just skip it, there are other places to shop.

Another congress member calling out the other orange guy.

THis is great — almost like he trolled a troll…

and he does it with style

The establishment seems to be pulling out all the stops. Unbelievable and very sad that it has come to this. The only losers are the people.

Mike Lee is an honorable man and his support of Ted Cruz is wonderful.
His willingness to step up and support a true conservative vocally, while he is a sitting Senator is really great to hear.
He is one of the few true conservatives in office that is standing up against the establishment. He isn’t one of the fake ones, that are too numerous to count in Washington DC that talk out of one side of their mouths and govern as democrats.

Hipsters are just this generations filthy hippies. I really enjoy the way Ted Cruz keeps his cool.
Did you ever see the video of when the brainless young actress (I forget her name. Ellen something I think) tried to debate him at a cookout he was attending? First he didn’t even recognize her and then he debated her brilliantly. It was wonderful to watch.

When I heard what he said about Ted Cruz today, I was disgusted. I have never liked the man and this is just another one to add to the list reasons to really dislike that man. He should have changed parties years ago.
I would guess he only ever claimed to be a conservative when he was running for re-election because he isn’t one.

You could be right. It could also be that the establishment knows that Trump could destroy the party and and guarantee a Hillary win.
I think early on that they were surprised by Trump and didn’t realize what was happening and assumed that Jeb was inevitable.
I hope it is because they believe that Cruz can win if nominated and that they will put their money behind him.

We are empty nesters and when I get home from work, I get on my computer and check the news. I sometimes get a chance during the day to scan the news on line and get a quick look. I listen to talk and news radio in the car to and from work. We almost never turn on our TV anymore, only for specific events, like the debates, or a high profile news event. We also watch football on Sundays during the season.

I have been done with fox news for a long time. I don’t watch any tv news anymore.

Being from Colorado, I am actually surprised that Cory Gardner would endorse anyone.
He ran as more conservative than he as acted so far and seems to avoid taking a vocal stand on anything that is too far out of the mainstream.

He is new to the gig so I have been withholding judgement.

I see Carly as a good pick. I think she would be a bulldog against Hilary. I wish I could see a debate between those two. If Trump thought of anyone but himself he would have tried to get Carly on board, because if for some reason he ends up the nominee he is going to need someone like her as VP.

This doesn’t surprise me at all. Trump is going to have to decide if he really wants to be president. I am still not convinced he ever had any plan to go all the way. When Trump announced he was running, the first thing I said to my husband was “I think Trump is a plant to give Hillary the presidency”.
I have seen more evidence that I may be correct than evidence that I am wrong. I honestly hope I am wrong. It would be devastating for the country I love.

Thanks, I am happy to be here.

    Victoria,
You have a very interesting perspective on Kasich. I think I will educate myself a little more about his accomplishments. I am a strong supporter of cutting spending, specifically on entitlements which most politicians refuse to touch.
I want limited government and reduced taxes without sacrificing our defense. I am still wishing for 35 years ago and Ronald Reagan. Everyone, wants to claim they are Ronald Reagan without doing the tough job.

    Thanks for the note Victoria,
I was (am) mrsloungitude on FR and signed up in 2009 though I lurked starting in 2001. It is a habit that is hard to break. I started feeling very uncomfortable over there during the debates and it has been going downhill for months.
I survived the 2004 election and it got a little crazy but not as nasty has this time around.
I plan on checking here first when I get home from work and support the site when I can.
